Here we go again with another bunch of phrases. Today we will be looking at civilities. When I started typing civilities I started thinking, did I just invent a word? I wanted to say some along the lines of being civil. So I looked it up online and the word does exist. The definition is courtesy or politeness. In Darija there are a lot of phrases that denote courtesy or politeness. Although from an outside perspective they do look to be religious in nature, they are also used to show courtesy or politeness. If you have been reading the previous common phrases, you will notice that the literal meaning of these phrases do not resemble the actual meaning. This is very common and is just something you need to accept. One final thing that I would like to mention. With some of these phrases, you will find to respond to them you will need to say another phrase.
